In The Pattern Flight School, based in Denton, Texas, is a family-run business owned and operated by brothers Sherman and Darren Gardner. With a deep passion for aviation and education, their mission is to make flight training approachable, professional, and safe for aspiring pilots at every level. Their hands-on instructional style and community-focused approach have helped the school become a trusted name in North Texas aviation.
As the business continued to grow, Sherman and Darren recognized a need to elevate their digital presence. Their goal was to capture the excitement, professionalism, and personal connection that students experience during flight training—especially in their Discovery Flights, a key entry point for new clients. Sherman had seen the impact of great media before but wanted a brand video and visual content library that reflected the same sense of quality and energy their students experienced in the cockpit. The challenge was finding a creative team that could balance technical excellence, efficiency on set, and the relational warmth crucial to their brand.

The goal was to produce a cinematic promotional video showcasing the Discovery Flight experience—highlighting both the thrill of flying and the supportive instruction style that defines In The Pattern. The video needed to serve multiple purposes: attract new students, support marketing efforts across social platforms, and serve as compelling collateral for inquiries. Sherman also wanted the production process to be collaborative, communicative, and flexible since the project involved aerial shoots and real-time flight operations.


Heart Media planned and executed the shoot with precision and professionalism, coordinating aerial drone footage, in-flight GoPro captures, and dynamic ground shots to tell the full story of the Discovery Flight. The result was a high-impact promo video that captured the excitement of aviation and the human connection behind the brand.
